MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND SECTIONAll ponies at this show must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books.
This Show is a qualifier for The National Pony Society Summer Championship Show to be held at Malvern from August 4th to 6th 2010. All National Pony Society Classes will be judged under NPS Rules. You do not need to be a member of The National Pony Society to compete in any class at this Show. The Rules for The NPS can be found on their Web site.

NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY CLASSES
NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible.
Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the final competition, at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from August 4th to 6th 2010
The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class will qualify for the Final. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified receives the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than 3rd place. Judges and/or stewards are requested to check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes and cards. NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Adult/Showing to enter the Final.
NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the Owner of the champion pony is a Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the Rider’s/Handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion Pony is not a Member, or the Owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve. Please not foals are not eligible for this In Hand Championship.
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 4th -6th August 2010.
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship: This competition is run in conjunction with other NPS Classes. Riders of Home Produced ponies must wear white arm bands. The highest placed home produced pony that has not qualified already, and is owned by an NPS member, qualifies for the final. Qualification cards will be handed out in the following classes at this show:
NPS M&M Open Ridden National Championship, NPS M&M Junior Ridden National Championship, NPS M&M First Ridden National Championship, and NPS M&M Lead Rein National Championship.
NPS Young Rider Competition. This competition is for riders up to 25 years of age and is run in conjunction with other NPS Winter and Summer Competitions. Qualification cards will be handed out in the following classes at this show. NPS M&M Open Ridden National Championship, NPS M&M Novice Ridden National Championship, NPS M&M Junior Ridden National Championship, and NPS M&M First Ridden National Championship.

Mixed Mountain and Moorland In Hand Classes
Class 30 Small Breeds In Hand - Stallion, barren mare or gelding, 4 years old or over. Registered in the Pure Bred Society Stud Book of Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor and Welsh Section A & B.
Class 31 Large Breeds In Hand – Stallion, barren mare or gelding, 4 years old or over. Registered in the Pure Bred Society Stud Book of Fell, Dales, Highland, Connemara, New Forest, and Welsh Section C & D
Class 32 Small Breeds Young stock In Hand – 1, 2 or 3 year old colt, filly or gelding. Registered in the Pure Bred Society Stud Book of Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor and Welsh Section A & B
Class 33 Large Breeds Young stock In Hand – 1, 2 or 3 year old colt, filly or gelding. Registered in the Pure Bred Society Stud Book of Fell, Dales, Highland, Connemara, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D
Class 34 Large and Small In Hand Brood Mare – in foal or with foal at foot (foals accompanying a mare must be 3weeks old or over). Registered in their Pure Bred Society Stud Book.
Class 35 Foal of Above. Must be eligible for Pure Bred Registration. All foals must be a minimum of 3 weeks of age, on the day of the show.
In Hand Championship -1st and 2nd Prize winners in classes 30 to 35 will compete. Champion and Reserve Champion will then go forward to The Supreme Mountain & Moorland Show Championship, and the NPS/Kilmannan Stud M & M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship
The Mountain and Moorland In-Hand Champion and the Reserve Champion both qualify for the ROSEBERRY NORTHERN BREEDERS IN-HAND CHAMPIONSHIP to be held at the NPS Area 4 North of England Show on Monday August 30th 2010. The Qualifier does not have to be a member of the NPS.

To be judged under the Rules of the NPS
Open to pure bred registered Mountain and Moorland Stallions, Mares and Geldings four years old or over.
A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following:
i) Won an open NPS affiliated M & M Ridden Class
ii) Won a class at an Olympia, HOYS or RIHS qualifying round
iii) Qualified for HOYS or RIHS
iv) Qualified for the M & M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show
v) Qualified for the M & M Ridden Championship final at Olympia in previous years or in the current year
Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit.
Class 38 Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh A
Class 39 Welsh B and Welsh C
Class 40 New Forest and Connemara
Class 41 Fell, Highland and Dales
Class 42 Welsh D
Novice Ridden Championship 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes 38 to 42 will compete.

Class 43 Open to registered Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A and Welsh B mares and geldings four years old and over. Riders must not have attained their 14th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.
Class 44 Open to registered Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara and Welsh C mares and geldings four years old and over, not exceeding 138 cm (13.2hh). Riders must not have attained their 18th birthday before the 1st January in the current year
Class 45 Open to registered Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara and Welsh D mares and geldings four years old and over, exceeding 138cm (13.2hh) but not exceeding 148cm (except for Welsh Section D and Dales). Riders must not have attained their 18th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.
Junior Ridden Championship 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes 43 to 45 will compete.
Champion and Reserve Champion will then go forward to The Supreme Mountain and Moorland Show Championship, and also the NPS/www.horsequest.co.uk M & M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette.

Class 46 Open to registered Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh A and Welsh B mares and geldings four years old and over not exceeding 122.cm (12.0hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have reached their 9th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. To be shown in a snaffle bridle.

NPS Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship – Wear White Armbands
Class 47 Open to registered Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh A and Welsh B mares or geldings four years old or over not exceeding 128 cm (12.2hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have reached their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year.
Mini Ridden Championship 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes 46 and 47 will compete.
Champion and Reserve Champion will then go forward to The Supreme Mountain and Moorland Show Championship.
