NORTHERN IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE SHOW SECTION

Entries, Pure Bred or Irish Draught sport horse, must be registered with the IDHS (GB). Registration numbers must be given on entry form, they are not required for foals, although the breeding details of foals are essential.       
 
Trophies and Special Rosettes are awarded in most classes.      
 
Prizes are awarded in all classes.

IN HAND PURE BRED CLASSES                       
 
CLASS 1 BROOD MARE – Grade 1 Brood Mare (RID, AID, SID) with own foal at foot, by RID sire; barren or in foal. Qualifier for the New Snowford GB Breeding Championship. To qualify the two highest placed mares must be owned by IDHS (GB) members domiciled in Great Britain, and registered or over stamped Grade 1  (RID,AID,SID) by IDHS (GB) with own foals at foot, born in Great Britain. Foals must be by a RID sire, registered or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and standing in Great Britain at time of covering. If one or both have already qualified, the mare(s) next in line will go forward to the Final at the IDHS(GB) Annual Breed Show at Arena UK, Allington, Grantham, Lincolnshire, on the 18th & 19th September 2010. The awards are: Champion; the New Snowford Breeding Trophy, a sash and £100; Reserve Champion: a sash and £50 prize money. Places 3rd to 7th: a rosette and £20. All prizewinners will receive a Crystal trophy. All other finalists will receive a rosette. In the final each mare and foal will be judged as a pair.
 
CLASS 2a PURE BRED FOAL – Out of mare in class 1, eligible for Grade 1 Irish Draught Register.

CLASS 2b PART BRED FOAL – Out of mare in class 1, by sire other than RID
 
CLASS 3 YOUNGSTOCK – 3a; Colt, filly or gelding yearling, 3b; two/three year filly or gelding, two year old colt, by a RID stallion and out of a Grade 1 Mare (RID,AID,SID) - (3b will be split if sufficient entries). Classes 3a & 3b are qualifiers for the NFU Mutual Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge. The two highest placed Pure Breds from each age group, yearling (filly, colt or gelding), two year old (filly, colt or gelding), three year old (filly or gelding), identified on the Grade 1 Irish Draught Horse Register, by RID sire out of Grade 1 mare (RID, AID, SID). Also 2 and 3 year old fillies already graded (RID/AID). If one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line down in each age group, will qualify for the final at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show at Arena UK, Allington, Grantham, Lincolnshire on 18th & 19th September 2010. In the final there will be three classes each awarding £150 to the 1st placed semi-finalist, and £100 to the 2nd placed semi-finalist. The two semi-finalists from each class going forward to the Championship, where the Champion will receive £150 prize money, the Reserve Champion will receive £100.
 
YOUNGSTOCK CHAMPIONSHIP follows class 3; - 1st & 2nd from classes 2a, 3a &3b eligible
 
CLASS 4 MARE/GELDING 16hh and under – 4 year old and over, RID, AID, SID graded Mares or Mare/Gelding by RID Stallion and out of a Grade 1 Mare (RID, AID, SID)
 
CLASS 5 MARE/GELDING 16.1hh and over – 4 year old and over, RID, AID, SID graded Mares or Mare/Gelding by RID Stallion and out of a Grade 1 Mare (RID, AID, SID)

PURE BRED IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP – 1st & 2nd placed horses in the classes 1, 2a, 3, 4, 5 eligible
 

IN HAND IRISH DRAUGHT SPORT HORSE CLASSES Commencing 11.15 am
 

CLASS 6 YOUNGSTOCK – Colt, filly or gelding yearling, two year old colt, filly or gelding, three year old filly or gelding; identified on the Grade 1 ID Sport Horse Register (this class will be split if sufficient entries)
 
CLASS 7 MARE/GELDING – 4 years and over, identified/registered on the Grade 1 ID Sport Horse Register

SPORT HORSE IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP – 1st and 2nd placed horses in classes 2b, 6 & 7 eligible
 
VETERAN  ROSETTES & PRIZES AWARDED TO HORSES 15 yrs & over in classes 1, 4, 5 & 9

YOUNG HANDLER AWARD (16 yrs & under) – please indicate age on entry form. All classes except 2 & all colts.
